Children and Cholesterol Drugs
Okay, I have just got to get this off my chest.
I’ve been sitting and stewing about this for too long and today, I need to let it out.
A few weeks ago, it was all over the news – including the CBS news – that a group of doctors are now recommending that children as young as 8 years old should be tested for high cholesterol and start using cholesterol lowering drugs.
Eight years old?!
Look, these drugs are so risky and dangerous that it makes me furious they’re still on the market.
It’s bad enough that these drugs are making more and more people miserable every day with muscle pain and weakness. (Most patients don’t realize these symptoms are MAJOR warning signs of other serious side effects.)
But to try and force this … this “crap” … on our children is more than I can take.
I’m sure I’ll have more to say on this in the future. But please don’t let your kids fall victim to this nonsense.
