A Cholesterol Friendly Breakfast
I stumbled across a recipe today that I wanted to share with you.
I’m told it’s really tasty but I haven’t tried it yet.
Here’s what you need:
- 2 packets of plain instant oatmeal
- Cinnamon to taste
- About 1/2 cup skim milk (I prefer vanilla almond milk.)
- Optional: Some berries and a little sweetener. (I’m partial to honey or agave syrup. But organic Sucanat is okay too and may be best for a recipe like this.)
The evening before you want to eat this for breakfast, do the following:
Mix up the oats, milk, cinnamon, and sweetener (if you’re adding that in) in a medium sized bowl.
Then cover up the bowl with a plastic wrap and place in the fridge. When you get up in the morning, you can add fresh blueberries or berry of choice if you want and then stir it all up.
Personally, I don’t think the berries and cinnamon are a good combination … so you decide if you prefer cinnamon, berries, or both.
